Shamrock'n Half Marathon 3-15-09

At the four mile mark!

Our cheering section waiting at Raley Field for Brian's big finish!

Brian finished 118th for his age group and 1,260th overall. His official time was 1:59:41.4. (The clock at the finish line isn't accurate for him because he started with the second wave of runners, about 10 minutes after the first wave. The runners wear special chips on their shoes so a sensor can pick up exactly when they cross the start and finish lines.)

Die Hard Fans! Brian with friend (and race coach) Todd Shadbourne.

Gold Dust or Bust!

Brady's 4th grade class is studying California history. Last week they put on a production of Gold Dust or Bust. It was a fun musical production, and the kids all did a great job!
Here's Brady at the microphone getting ready to deliver his big line.

Brady had a very important line to deliver. I'd even venture to say that it was crucial to the plot of the whole play. Really, a very pivotal point. He delivered it flawlessly!

During all the musical numbers (and there were 10 of them!) Brooke engaged in a little interpretive dance. She entertained a number of our nearby audience members.

Monterey Trip--January 2009

We took a quick trip to Monterey a couple weeks ago. We visited the Carmel Mission (Brady's 4th grade project) and Point Lobos. The weather was sunny and in the mid-70's!
